Hubble astronomers have launched a really stunning picture taken by NASA and the European Area Company’s Hubble Area Telescope of Arp 107, a pair of galaxies in the midst of a collision.
Arp 107 It’s positioned about 465 million light-years away within the constellation Leo Minor, a small, faint constellation within the northern celestial hemisphere.
The colliding galactic duo is a part of a catalog of 338 pairs of galaxies often called Atlas of alien galaxiesWhich was collected in 1966 by the American astronomer Halton Arp.
Also referred to as APG 107A, UGC 5984 is assessed as a Seyfert 2 galaxy. MCG+05-26-025 or LEDA 32628 is an elliptical galaxy.
“UGC 5984 (at left) is a sort of extremely energetic galaxy often called a Seyfert galaxy, which homes energetic galactic nuclei at its core,” Hubble astronomers mentioned in an announcement.
